yeah....thanksgiving was lame.....just another normal day other than we had a meeting with the president and all the new missionarys ha. It was weird to be with the kids that this was their first week, and how i feel so new and to see how much i have learned in just those short 6 weeks haha except the new group of missionaries consists of 15 hermanas an 3 elders..haha so the meeting was a little sexist;) haha but the hermanas are super cool and alot of them had really good spanish! better than mine was the first week ha but yeah thanksgiving was a normal old day for me!
Sounds like your thanksgiving was another extravagent experience!! just doing the boring old "scuba diving with sea lions, paddleboarding, enjoying fresh tuna tacos made by your personal chef";) its a rough life isnt it haha Its crazy how much i really took for granted growing up...i talk with the other missionarys and see the people here and they are talking about how their life dream is to spend a week on a yacht and that was just a common family vacation for me. I am so grateful for the experiences that you and dad gave me. And i hope in time that i will be able to do the same for my kids.
ok about the packages, so i got the one with the shoes and shirts(I love the shoes by the way:)) but still havent gotten the one with the food in it. So we will just have to see if it will ever come! About christmas...ummm a santa hat would be cool! but as you said there really isnt anything that i need as of right now so just whatever:) oh and about skyping, so thats what we do here, no option for just a call! so i guess i will be seeing you guys in a few days hahaha weird!!! but im not sure on the details and time to do it yet so i will just keep you updated on that:)
so about the package i sent you guys for christmas, i got the tracking number so you guys could see and track it the whole way so im pretty sure the website to look on is "www.correos.cl" and the tracking number is #977648374
and i was on my missionary.lds.org site and it told me that i had to put my social security number on it...and i dont know it so could you log on and put it in for me:) my username is jared.collins17 and password is Collins1
A funny thing i found out this week is that Elder Silva is a die hard Icarly fan....Like he is always quoteing it and talking about how funny gibby is and stuff hahahaha i thought that was the funniest thing that here is this 20 year old brazilian who is inlove with an american kids tv show haha hes a goof:)
So this next sunday is the Baptism of Fernanda! so the next time i write i will have my first baptism:) i have gotten super close to their family and we are homies! so the plan for Rosa(the mom) is so here in chile there is this thing where the government is going to give her a free house in april if she isnt married...so her and Jorge are going to wait till they get the house then get married and she will be baptized. and a year later get sealed in the temple!! it is kinda rough that they are making that decision to wait but it is their decision...but the cool part about it is if it all works out i will be able to see them get sealed right before i come home!!
ANyways, I love you guys so much and love to have the opportunity to be here in chile doing the work of the lords. And i know that there is a divine reason im here and im commited to do all i can to help the chileans come closer to christ:)
Love,
Elder Collins
